Installing a bathroom sink trap

Among our clients

Installing a bathroom sink trap is an important step in maintaining the proper functioning of the sink and preventing unpleasant odors. Below is a detailed guide to help you install it yourself:

Tools and materials required:

  • New siphon (suitable for your sink type)
  • Swedish wrench (or adjustable pliers)
  • bucket
  • cloth
  • Sealants (optional)

Deck installation steps:

  1. preparation:
    • Place a bucket under the old deck to collect the water left in it.
    • Remove the old trap: Unscrew the union nut that connects the trap to the drain and sewer pipe. You may need to use a wrench to loosen the nut.
    • Clean the drain opening and sewer pipe from dirt and debris.
  2. Installing the new deck:
    • Connect the top of the siphon to the drain opening, and tighten the connection nut.
    • Connect the bottom of the siphon to the sewer pipe, and tighten the connection nut.
    • Make sure all connections are tight but not too tight so as not to damage the deck.
    • If necessary, sealants can be used in the various connections to prevent leaks.
  3. examination:
    • Turn on the water flow in the sink and check for leaks from the connections.
    • If there is any leakage, retighten the nuts.
    • Be careful not to forget the rubber seals that come with the siphon, these are important for sealing.

Important tips:

  • Choose a siphon suitable for your sink type and sewage system.
  • Use quality sealants to prevent leaks.
  • Tighten the connections firmly, but be careful not to overtighten them.
