Tiling is a craft that requires skill and precision, whether it's flooring or wall covering. To ensure quality work that lasts, it's important to follow a number of steps and techniques.

Surface preparation:

  • Cleaning: The surface to which the tiles will be glued must be thoroughly cleaned, removing dirt, dust and grease.
  • Alignment: If necessary, level the surface using mortar or other material to create a flat and smooth base for bonding.
  • Primer: In some cases, it is recommended to apply a layer of primer to the surface to improve adhesion.

Choosing adhesives:

  • Glue type: There are different types of tile adhesives, depending on the type of tile, the surface, and the work environment.
    • Cementitious adhesive: Suitable for most types of tiles and surfaces.
    • Acrylic glue: Suitable for smaller, lighter tiles, and straight, smooth surfaces.
    • Epoxy glue: Suitable for wet areas, such as bathrooms and kitchens.
  • Amount of glue: It is important to use the correct amount of glue, to ensure a strong bond, but also to prevent excess from emerging between the tiles.

Gluing the tiles:

  • Applying the glue: Apply the adhesive to the surface using a serrated trowel to create an even layer with grooves.
  • Laying the tiles: The tiles should be placed on the adhesive, applying light pressure and gentle rotation.
  • Intervals: Ensure equal spacing between the tiles, using spacers or a level.
  • Alignment: Make sure the tiles are perfectly aligned, both horizontally and vertically.

rifle:

  • Filling the rifle: After the glue has dried, the gaps between the tiles should be filled with mortar, using a rubber spatula.
  • Cleaning: The gun residue must be cleaned from the tiles before it dries.

Additional tips:

  • Use appropriate tools: Serrated spatula, rubber spatula, spacers, level.
  • Work in an orderly and clean manner: Be sure to clean up the glue residue and gun in a timely manner.
  • Consult a professional: If in doubt, it is recommended to consult a professional sequencer.

Remember, gluing tiles is a job that requires patience and precision. Following these steps and tips will ensure you get a quality result that will last for years.
