Cost of installing a charging station in a shared building: The transparent price guide

Among our clients

Living in a condominium? It doesn't have to be expensive, but it has to be professional.

The first question that every husband Electric vehicle A building resident asks: "How much will it cost me?" If you've searched the Internet, you've probably seen ads for "installation for 2,000 shekels." So why is the price quote in a condominium building sometimes double?

The answer is simple: The logistical challenge.

In a private home, the board is 5 meters from the parking lot. In a condominium, your apartment could be on the 7th floor, and the parking lot on floor minus 2. The distance, the transition between floors, and the need to work in public areas (lobby, stairwell, parking lot) are what affect the price.

בStones Holdings, We believe in transparency. We have prepared a full breakdown of the cost components for you, so you understand exactly what you are paying for.

What does the price of a condominium consist of?

Unlike a standard installation, in a shared building there are many variables:

1. Power cord length (the most influential factor)

This is the main component that makes the installation more expensive. A high-quality, standard three-phase power cable is expensive.

  • If your panel is on the 5th floor and the parking lot is at minus 1, this is sometimes 40-60 meters of cable.
  • The financial significance: Every additional meter beyond the base package (usually 10-15 meters) adds to the cost.

2. Infrastructure and transportation (ducts and pipes)

The cable cannot just be "thrown" in the parking lot. It must be protected in PVC conduits or rigid rubber pipes, and secured to the ceiling or walls in an aesthetic and safe manner that will not disturb the neighbors.

3. Drillings and transitions between floors

To lower the cable from the apartment to the parking lot, it is often necessary to perform "diamond drilling" in concrete (between floors) or to pass through tight technical shafts. This is hard physical work that requires special equipment and a longer work time.

4. Electrical cabinet/meters (if necessary)

If you connect to the building's public panel (and not the apartment), it is necessary to install a sub-meter (kWh meter) inside a small cabinet, so that you can settle accounts with the house committee.

Price estimate: Installation in a condominium

It is important to emphasize: prices refer to For installation and infrastructure work only (including panel protection accessories), and do not include the price of the charging station itself or the cost of the cable beyond the basic distance.

Our added value: Handling bureaucracy with the committee

In a condominium building, the price you pay for "holding blocks" buys you not only an electrician, but peace of mind with your neighbors:

  1. Preparing an installation file for the committee: We provide a drawing and an organized work plan to reassure the committee that the work is safe and aesthetic.
  2. Minimizing aesthetic damage: Our expertise is to route cables as "invisible" as possible, within hidden shafts or ducts, to maintain the building's prestigious appearance.
  3. Creative solutions: In cases where it is impossible to leave the apartment, we know how to create solutions for connecting to the public switchboard with advanced sub-meters, and provide the committee with a technical explanation that will put their minds at ease.

Why shouldn't you take the cheapest offer in a condominium building?

A cheap installation in a shared building costs more later.

An amateur installer may run cables carelessly, which will ruin the lobby, drill in prohibited places that will damage the building's waterproofing, or get into a fight with the building committee and leave you with the problem.
