Before you start – what will you need?

• New roller blind: Make sure all required parts are included in the package (curtain fabric rolled on a tube, operating mechanism, mounting brackets, screws).
• From a screwdriver: An electric screwdriver is preferred for convenience and speed, but a suitable manual screwdriver can also be used.
• Drill (if necessary): If you are installing on a concrete wall or other hard wall, you will need a drill with a drill bit suitable for the wall.
• Pencil: To mark the screw locations.
• Measuring tape: To measure the width of the window and the location of the fixtures.
• leveler: To make sure the seats are installed straight.
• Phillips screwdriver: Usually fits the screws that come with the curtain.
• Dowels (if the wall requires): Usually supplied with the curtain for concrete or block walls.
• Safety glasses: To protect the eyes from dust and drilling debris.

Installation steps:

1. Determining the installation location:
   • Inside the window niche: If you want the curtain to be installed inside the window frame, measure the inside width at the top. Allow for a small gap (about 1 cm) on both sides so the curtain can move freely.
   • Outside the window niche: If you want the curtain to cover the entire window niche and perhaps even part of the wall, measure the width of the niche and add a few centimeters on each side to ensure full coverage and better sealing against light.
   • Installation height: Decide on the height you want to install the curtain. It is usually recommended to install above the window frame to maximize the amount of light that enters when the curtain is rolled up.
2. Marking the location of residency:
   • Hold one of the brackets in the intended installation location and mark the screw locations through the holes in the bracket with a pencil. Make sure the bracket is level using the level.
   • Repeat the operation for the second bracket. It is important to make sure that the distance between the markings on the two brackets corresponds to the width of the curtain mechanism (check the manufacturer's instructions).
3. Drilling holes (if necessary):
   • If you are installing on a concrete or hard wall, drill holes in the locations you marked using a drill with an appropriate drill bit.
   • Insert the dowels into the holes you drilled.
4. Installing the brackets:
   • Attach the brackets to the wall (or into the window niche) in the places you marked (or above the dowels if you used them).
   • Screw the brackets to the wall firmly using the appropriate screws. Make sure the brackets are straight and firmly secured.
5. Inserting the curtain mechanism into the housing:
   • Following your curtain manufacturer's instructions, insert the curtain rod with the operating mechanism into the installed brackets. There is usually one side of the mechanism that is designed to fit into one bracket, and a second side that connects to the other bracket.
   • Make sure the curtain sits firmly and securely in the brackets.
6. Checking the operation of the curtain:
   • Gently pull the operating chain or rod to check that the curtain goes up and down smoothly and without any jerks.
   • Make sure the curtain reaches the desired height when open and provides full coverage when closed.

• Carefully read the installation instructions that come with your blind. There may be slight differences between different types of roller blinds.
• If you are installing a wide, heavy curtain, you may need an additional center bracket for better support.
