Stubborn sticker on the glass? Here's how to get rid of it without leaving a trace!
We all know it: a sticker that won't come off your window, bottle, or new glassware. But don't despair! With a little patience and the right techniques, you can remove any stubborn sticker without leaving a trace.
Effective methods for removing stickers from glass:
1. The power at temperature:
- Boiling water: Dip a cloth in boiling water (carefully!) and wring it out. Place the hot cloth on the sticker for a few minutes. The hot water will soften the adhesive and make it easier to remove.
- Hair dryer: Set a hair dryer on high heat on the sticker for about 30 seconds. The heat will help loosen the adhesive from the glass.
2. Simple materials from home:
- Cooking oil: Apply a little cooking oil to the sticker and wait a few minutes. The oil will seep under the sticker and break the bonds between the adhesive and the glass.
- vinegar: Soak a cotton ball in white vinegar and rub the sticker. The vinegar will help dissolve the adhesive.
- Medical alcohol: Similar to vinegar, alcohol can also help dissolve the glue and remove the sticker.
3. Gentle work with tools:
- spatula: After you have softened the adhesive using one of the methods above, try gently peeling the sticker off with a plastic spatula or credit card.
- Razor: In particularly stubborn cases, you can try lifting a corner of the sticker with a sharp razor blade and peeling it slowly and along the glass.
4. Dedicated products:
- Sticker remover: In building materials stores, you can find a dedicated sticker remover that will help you easily remove the sticker and adhesive residue.
- WD-40: Spray WD-40 on the sticker and wait a few minutes. The WD-40 will help loosen the adhesive from the glass.
Additional tips:
- Start by peeling off a corner of the sticker and pull it off slowly and carefully.
- If any glue residue remains, repeat one of the methods or combine them.
- After removing the sticker, clean the glass with glass cleaner to remove any adhesive residue and get a shiny finish.
Remember: Before using any method, test it in a hidden spot on the glass to make sure it doesn't damage the surface.
